Position Overview:
Welders are responsible for production and pre-assembly welding in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; welding various parts needed to produce state-of-the-art products. They weld using GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG) and GMAW-P (Pulse MIG) welds while meeting all quality standards, specifications, and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Must be able to:

  • Read work orders, blueprints & production documents and establish daily priorities

  • Perform welding tasks based on work order details and production schedules

  • Perform first piece inspection of welded manufactured parts to meet blue-print specifications and tolerances and adjust setups accordingly to ensure a quality product is produced

  • Visually inspect all weld requirements for penetration and porosity.

  • Safely weld various assemblies or component parts into fixtures to produce quality parts

  • Maintain proper maintenance on weld guns and wire feeders as needed.

  • Operate a wide variety of tools related to the welding process (i.e. sanders, grinders, buffers, etc.) as needed

  • Troubleshoot, problem solve and elevate any production issues to Lead/Supervisor

  • Promote and follow all company safety guidelines and initiatives

  • Willing to assist other areas as assigned and needed

  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment corresponding to departmental housekeeping standards

  • Perform all tasks with a safety mindset

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Minimum/Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED or relevant work experience

  • Complete and pass forklift certification if needed

  • Able to work with minimal supervision

  • Basic computer navigation and typing skills

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, reporting to work on time and as scheduled

  • Promote and follow all company safety guidelines and initiatives

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills

  • Work efficiently with the ability to prioritize daily workload

  • Willingness to learn and help others

  • Detail oriented and capable of carrying out a given task with a commitment to quality

  • Motivated and flexible to work in any other area of the plant as needed

  • Composed during stressful situations

  • Represent the company in a professional friendly manner

  • Support and encourage other team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical requirements include standing, sitting, squatting, walking, reaching out to arm’s length, reaching over-head, lifting up to 55 pounds and using a hoist if necessary

  • Work safely around moving equipment, power tools, and industrial vehicles

  • Repetitive use of upper extremities

  • Able to work in high heat environments

Compensation: starting at $19.39 - $24.26/hour with overtime available. These roles may also be eligible for prior experience, skill, licensure, and/or certification pay differentials that will be in addition to the starting pay rate.
