SHIPPING ASSOCIATE

Position Overview:
Shipping Associates are responsible for ensuring that all trucks are successfully and efficiently loaded in an organized and safe manner. They stage and load finished parts and products onto trucks for delivery to dealers ensuring all products are protected from damage during shipping. These individuals are also responsible for accurately picking and packaging parts for customer orders, ensuring daily shipping deadlines are met for a wide variety of ship methods.

Responsibilities:

Must be able to:

  • Gather products and parts needed to fulfill deliveries to dealers

  • Prioritize staging of shipments according to truck schedules and delivery schedules of orders

  • Optimally load trucks in an organized and safe manner using forklifts and jigs

  • Verify and record all items loaded for shipments

  • Complete necessary paperwork by documenting serial numbers of stoves and mowers

  • Trouble shoot shipping issues and customer complaints that arise

  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications

  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment corresponding to departmental housekeeping standards

  • Promote and follow all company safety guidelines and initiatives

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Minimum/Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED or relevant work experience

  • Basic computer navigation and typing skills

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English

  • Work efficiently with the ability to prioritize daily workload with minimal supervision

  • Composed during stressful situations

  • Detail oriented and capable of carrying out a given task with a focus on quality

  • Team Player and willing to learn and help others

  • Motivated and flexible to work in any other area of the plant as needed

  • Represent the company in a professional, friendly manner

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, reporting to work on time and as scheduled

  • Support and encourage other team members

  • Complete and pass Forklift certification

Preferred Experience:

  • Warehouse experience helpful

  • Previous Shipping Experience helpful

Physical Requirements such as below:

  • Physical requirements include: standing, sitting, squatting, walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching and reaching out to arm’s length, reaching over-head, lifting up to 55 pounds

Compensation: starting at $19.39 - $24.26/hour with overtime available. These roles may also be eligible for prior experience, skill, licensure, and/or certification pay differentials that will be in addition to the starting pay rate.
