Position Overview:
A production Powder Paint/Refractory Technician plays a key role in a dynamic manufacturing environment, ensuring the production of high-quality outdoor wood furnaces, mowers, and outdoor power equipment. This position involves preparing parts, setting up and maintaining paint booths, expertly applying powder paint to achieve superior finishes, and producing durable refractory components that meet strict quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Must be able to:
Read work orders, blueprints and follow detailed
instructions for painting and refractory
Collect all material, equipment and tools needed for the work order
Load unpainted parts onto conveyor line and remove painted parts from conveyor line
Change hanging hooks to ensure parts are properly grounded
Adjust and tune application equipment to meet acceptable standards
Set up and operate painting equipment
Inspect parts to ensure quality
Properly store painted parts using established methods to minimize defects
Maintain painting equipment, hoses, pumps, spray guns and tips
Clean and blow out paint booth and powder center for paint color changes
Mix and apply refractory compounds for part specific molds
Perform tests to verify the integrity of installed refractory materials
Report on issues, malfunctions, or defective parts
Maintain a safe, clean work environment corresponding to departmental housekeeping standards
Troubleshoot, problem solve and elevate any production issues to Leader
Perform all tasks with a safety mindset following all safety protocols
Perform other duties as assigned
Willing and available to work overtime as needed

Relevant

Able to work with minimal supervision
Basic computer navigation and typing skills
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English

Preferred skills and Experience:
Previous experience working with powder paint in a manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift up to 55 lbs. using hoists appropriately
Standing, sitting, squatting, walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching and reach out to arm’s length and reach overhead
Work safely around moving equipment
Repetitive use of upper extremities
The salary range for this role is $19.00 to $21.96 per hour. The salary range for the position will be determined by several factors, such as the candidate's previous related work experience, education, knowledge, technical skills, performance and abilities. Additionally, the compensation of employees in similar roles at Central Boiler Companies and the budget allocated for the position will influence the offer.
