ELECTRICIAN

Position Overview:
Central Boiler Companies Electricians are responsible for repairing and maintaining building and industrial electrical equipment while ensuring safety for themselves and others by observing all local, state, and national electrical codes.

Responsibilities:

Must be able to:

  • Prioritize, respond and troubleshoot facilities and plant equipment and repair requests, working overtime if needed

  • Plan, layout, and install electrical equipment or fixtures, based on job specifications

  • Inspect equipment to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects

  • Inspect electrical systems or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes

  • Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters and voltmeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system

  • Install new plant equipment

  • Read and understand NEC code and electrical schematics

  • Complete scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders

  • Use a variety of power tools

  • Willing to assist other areas as assigned and needed

  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment corresponding to departmental housekeeping standards

  • Perform other duties assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in a related field

  • Certified Licensed Electrician

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, reporting to work on time and as scheduled

  • Promote and follow all company safety guidelines and initiatives

  • Able to work with minimal supervision

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills

  • Work efficiently with the ability to prioritize daily workload

  • Willingness to learn and help others

  • Detail oriented and capable of carrying out a given task with a commitment to quality

  • Motivated and flexible to work in any other area of the plant as needed

  • Composed during stressful situations

  • Represent the company in a professional, friendly manner

  • Support and encourage other team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed Electrician experience

  • Journeyman experience

  • 2-year technical electrical degree

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, squatting, walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching and reaching out to arm’s length and reach overhead

  • Able to lift up to 55 lbs, using hoists for heavier items

  • Repetitive use of upper extremities

  • Work safely around moving equipment, power tools, and industrial vehicles

  • Use forklifts, scissor lifts, manlifts and able to work at heights of up to 30 ft.

Compensation: starting at $26.00 - $34.66/hour with overtime available. These roles may also be eligible for prior experience, skill, licensure, and/or certification pay differentials that will be in addition to the starting pay rate.
