SHOW AND EVENT MANAGER

Position Overview:

The Show and Event Manager is a hybrid role including managing and developing the strategy for the department team, providing hands on support at trade shows/events and being the face of Central Boiler Companies, Inc., along with meeting potential dealers and consumers. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling, overseeing the planning, and attending consumer shows and national/local events for Central Boiler, Altoz and WoodMaster. Travel is required.

Responsibilities:

Show and Event Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Sales and Marketing during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order and all requirements are understood for each event
  • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems
  • Complete all administrative tasks, including a pre-travel agenda, recap report of business travel, and accurate accounting of materials used and expenses for travel and lodging
  • Evaluate event’s success, recommend improvements for future shows and events
  • Troubleshoot, problem solve and elevate any issues to leadership
  • Plan events with adherence to financial and time constraints
  • Communicate and enthusiastically sell Central Boiler, Altoz and WoodMaster products in a knowledgeable and positive manner
  • Plan for staffing of shows and events with appropriate staff and Dealers
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and R&D regarding feedback from Consumers and Dealers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Management Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the department ensuring business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met
  • Set goals for the team members making sure they comply with the company’s plans and vision
  • Promote sound employee relationships within the department by developing and maintaining an effective organization with qualified personnel
  • Provide direction, leadership, development, and support to team members through empowerment, teamwork, and on-the-job assignments
  • Inspect team members performance ensuring processes and guidelines are properly followed
  • Ensure department is properly staffed with trained and qualified personnel
  • Train and onboard new team members regarding policies, procedures, tools and objectives

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Intermediate computer and spreadsheet skills with the ability to learn additional business-related systems
  • Intermediate mechanical aptitude and able to use handheld tools
  • Deep knowledge of Central Boiler, Altoz and WoodMaster products
  • Strong communication (written and oral), analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, strong sense of responsibility, self-motivation, and ability to work in a customer service driven environment
  • Excellent customer service and conflict management skills
  • Foster a strong team environment with the ability to collaborate and influence effectively
  • Effectively coach and mentor peers & employees, giving feedback, with the goal of performance improvement
  • Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to build relationships with dealers, customers, and team members
  • Promote and follow all company safety guidelines and initiatives
  • Willing to travel and work overtime as needed
  • Work efficiently with the ability to prioritize daily workload
  • Composed during stressful situations

Preferred Qualifications/Selection Criteria:

  • Event planning experience
  • Experience working internally and externally to execute customer facing events
  • Previous Project Management experience

Physical Requirements such as below:

  • Portion of the workday may include sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse, and monitor along with standing, sitting, squatting, walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and reaching out to arm’s length and overhead at shows and events
